JCPNEXT4-57: Should the Employer Contribution Agreement be general or specific to a JSR #51

Closed apastsya closed 7 years ago

Jira issue originally created by user pcurran:

From an administrative perspective we might prefer a general agreement that would cover any JSR that an employee might participate in,

On the other hand, employers might prefer the more fine-grained control over their IP commitments that a JSR-specific agreement would bring.

Comment created by pcurran:

At the July 18 meeting of the IP Working Group we decided that the agreement should default to "all JSRs the employee participates in" but that it could be modified to apply to only specified JSRs.

Oracle Legal is drafting an agreement along these lines.

Comment created by pcurran:

Oracle Legal pushed back on the option to list specific JSRs, suggesting that the employer rather than the PMO should police this.

The EC agreed at the September f2f meeting not to oppose this suggestion.
