Logout doesn't work #184

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to the Tcler's Wiki
2. Edit a page, and therefore enter a username
3. Press Logout in the navigation bar on the left side of the page.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect to be logged out...so that I can log in again, thus switching my name
(WHD vs
WHDgnome).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

The version running on the Tcler's Wiki, accessed via Safari 3.2.1 on OS X
10.4.11. I've also seen
it with the latest Safari on OS X 10.5.8.

Please provide any additional information below.

Oh, and what I see instead is nothing. The page reloads, I think, but
everything's the same. I have to
toss my cookies to be able to change my name.

This is a known problem with safari. I'll discuss it with Colin as it's cookie
thing.

Safari and Chrome? Then it is a WebKit issue, expect to see the same on
Konqueror

Does anyone have the ability to tell me what HTTP headers are being delivered
to the client?

I can confirm the problem on chrome, but am finding it hard to get a decent
diagnosis on the basis of what's being sent.

Colin.

I think I've worked it out - we need to specify the path to clear a cookie for
Webkit. Doesn't appear to matter for FF etc (they appear to correctly intuit
it.)

Le sigh. Cookies are such a crap standard.
