No. This version is targeted to mobile devices. It uses fast optimizations and
asm cores. New MaMe versions target to more accurate emulation.

RB from MAMEdev has suggested that a version from the v0.80's would be the
sweet spot for mobile devices and 1Ghz processors.

Yeah... Funny thread.. They don't know what are talking about... On a medium
device with asm cores I can't run full speed outrun now... They suggest ports
sdl MaMe... Yes I think too... But not now... Sdl is more overhead, and newer
MaMe version will be more slower...
Yes 0.37 has some drawbacks .... But you can play old classics and cps1
withnsome neogeo... With final burn very well complemented... What do you
think? To get a perfect emulation use desktop MaMe... Is really MaMe as it
should.. To had a good time with your mobile device mame4droid is good enough.

Also one think that they forget is that 0.37 is like a tagged romset...if you
have a psp, gp2x, wiz, iPhone and a lot more... You now what you need... Not
headaches with roms compability.. All use 0.37... Yes donkey kong is not
acccurated... But is this important in a mobile device?

... Only till iPad 2.. I haven't see a device powerful enough to run full speed
iMame4all... But what happens with the rest users...? And i tell you that the
limitation is in the core mame emulation... IOs raster is full gpu
accelerated..I think is better idea to stay on 0.37 and in a two years maybe
has sense to port a newer MaMe version... When all people has better devices..I
hope you understand my point of view...

From a personal point of view, as part of the MAME artwork project (Ad_Enuff),
I really wish it was possible to add the new high resolution artwork the team
and I have created over the last few years. It would look superb on a tablet.
Even on standard phones, it should look really crisp and really cool. But the
issue is moving to a new core. As for better emulation? If that comes with it
so be it. But for me, the current rom set and games available are the games I
play most even if they are not technically accurate as MAMEdev would like.

I really like your work. Some people has email me asking some kind of artwork
integration.
This first mame4droid release really it is a very fast release because I have
an exam this week (I'm studying now) and I had to stop develop... I hope in a
two weeks i could I resume adding some pending things that are really needed.
I hope I could add some kind of overlay system to add some nice experimental
integration when I think the main features are finished.

I'm glad that you and others enjoy my work. Primary, I started for my own
amusement, but once I started creating hi-res artwork, it ballooned incredibly
quickly and Aaron Giles was very keen to change the core to accommodate new
artwork and rewrote the code for it, pretty much in a day or so. As a thank
you, I created his MAPPPY bezel as it's one of his favourite games he plays
along with TURBO, again I created that for him too.
If some integration can be done further along the line, it simply will look
gorgeous. I'm contemplating buying a TEGRA 3 table when they finally arrive. It
will be interesting to see if RB buys one himself and starts having a play.
