Cost of Living in Shenzhen - jdhao's digital space

Here is how much I spend for living in Shenzhen, China as a non-local people. Note the cost may vary a lot depending on various factors. All numbers are in the unit of Chinese Yuan (symbol ¥).

6000 is perhaps an upper limit, but you get the idea. What is your living cost like for a month?

I have also lived in Shenzhen for more than 10 years. In China, the income gap is too large. For example: security guards, sanitation, their income is only 3K-5K/month, and the minimum 1.2K RMB can live; ordinary white-collar workers earn around 8K-12K, and spend about 3K RMB; senior white-collar workers and civil servants with more than 15K spend mostly 5K about. These are the ordinary civilian, the upper class is the senior manager and cadre level, the income is 20K-100K, the income gap is getting bigger and bigger, and then the city-level cadres earn more than 200K

That's quite informative for just-graduated college student who is applying for a job in big cities. And I am wondering whether it is feasible to uplift your savings rate by cutting down your daily costs, such as renting a house in urban villages, cooking at home rather than eating outside? My expected living cost per month is 3k-4k RMB, and I am looking forward to achieving the goal.
