Bookmarks for tutorials #25

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Wait until enough tutorials exist. (see Issue 1)
2. Attempt to find a tutorial tried previously...

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should be easy to find, but there's no way currently to remember
location of tutorials. A system of bookmarks might be useful.

Would it be better to have Crunchy or the browser handle this? I think the
former,
simply because we have more control there.

Ideally, the browser should handle it. However, it did not work when I tried.
I
suspect it is because of one (or both) of the following reasons:
1. paths that have a space in them (such as ".../My Documents/...");
2. paths that have a non-ascii character in them (such as ".../André/...").

The file I tried had both!

I we have Crunchy handle this, it could be merged into the menu system. Would
this be
another suitable plugin to think about in the future?

Yes, I do believe it might be something worthwhile to look at implementing as a
plugin. However, it should probably wait until the menu and all other features
that
work properly in Crunchy's 0.8.1 release are reproduced in the Comet branch.

I am marking this as Beyond1.0 because it isn't something that needs
fixing, or because it is a feature that won't be ready in time.

Two items should appear on the menu: add to bookmark, and show bookmarks. When
adding to bookmark, the user should have the option of adding a description.

When " show bookmarks " is selected, a custom page, similar to the preferences,
should be shown with the option of selecting the security level for each site.
This
would be complementary to the site security saved currently used.

Some functionality to edit bookmarks should also be available - maybe in the
"show
bookmarks" page.

At the very least, it should be possible to delete bookmarks, and edit the
description.

Yes, I agree. I will look at implementing this soon after the 1.0 release.
