Captured text is not carried over to the X11 window.

Ok not quite true. It IS working.

Selecting text with shift + arrow direction is not.

Text can be copied with ctrl + c however the mini buffer comes up.

Text must be pasted with ctrl + y.

It seems a bit unintuitive, I prefer having these set to whatever is default on my OS. Can these commands be edited as extensions???
