Replace Record > Pass events to output with Arm? #31

Hi, I'm wondering, how do you use seq192 to play something before recording it into a sequence For example, before recording a sequence I'd try to play a bit to select an instrument (MIDI output for that sequence) and practice a few times until I find a pattern I like, and then hit record. However the function "Pass events to output" in the Record menu of the sequence editor passes events to the output only when recording is actually engaged. Other tools and DAWs typically have an Arm functionality instead, which allows passing the input through routing to the output (synthesizers, mixers) even while not recording - which is also what seq24's button image does.

Does this make sense to you, or do you do that differently?

Hi, Your question does make sense, I must have overlooked that feature when I modified the midi part of the engine. Connecting the keyboard to both seq192 and the synth you want to hear is a way to avoid the problem but it prevents from selecting the midi/bus directly from seq192 (which is an issue I think I've encountered before without figuring out what was going on). I'll work on it when I have some time and keep you posted.
