Download the tarball release instead of cloning the whole repo. #1

The git repo is something like 4 megabytes whereas the tarball is only 150K. Removes the dependency on git, but adds a dependency on curl (and tar... but that's assumed for a Unix system).

Just realized I was in the middle of converting the ShellJS the bootstrap script, and that there are some issue to be solved with this technique itself. I'm thinking of just dropping it altogether and just keeping the old bootstrap bash script with your changes.
