First of all, I want to say ...awesome.
I have looked thru this and also the ez-robot site and though AMIL 1.0 works fine with ez-robot I understand this to be 2.0 . Do you have any working videos for setup and such with ez-robot? I have looked at the tutorial over there but got stuck in a few places. A working setup video from A-Z would be totally awesome and helpful.

I have worked with openjarvis in the past and it does some awesome things with regards to lookups and such for weather and such, but takes a lot (I mean really a lot) of time to train and I believe but could be wrong the syn stuff is easier to train (as one could just use the original alice files to start) . Do you have any working video(s)... Thanks

"I understand this to be 2.0" No this not AIML 2.0 is another type markup language e.g. "tags", although there is an AIML to SIML converter. I have some concerns regarding SIML maturity or adoption, e.g. their forum https://forum.syn.co.in/ has an expired certificate (15/3/2019), some demo projects are abandoned. I can't find information regarding their licence and I read somewhere you need a license. I don't feel SIML is an alternative to AIML.

@montanaman2017: but takes a lot (I mean really a lot) of time to train

Can you explain ?

Hello

Go to licensing on this page https://syn.co.in/Index.aspx I Have got an individual developper licence and it works fine Certificate on their forum will be updated next days

I say really a lot time to train as you have to create a script..train the script, etc. AIML 2.0 you can load a .aiml file (say even from ALICE project) and BAM 20,000 words learned.
Open Jarvis is great from our use of it for simple easy tasks, but if you want the robot to be a lot smarter it seems to no be the best way to go.

So as for this project. Is it dead? If not, how about doing a video or walkthru for setting it up. This would help those in ez-robot. My son just build (13 year old) a working inmoov head (and still working on the rest) and maybe EZ Robot Plugin to inteface with Synthetic Intelligence Network Bot Framework would be a better fit then.. AIML 1.0 is a great start, but AIML 2.0 is the way to go since it has personalities and , but maybe the Synthetic Intelligence Network Bot is comparable.

@jeanlucben Thanks for feedback.

A Developer license makes sense if you are a developer e.g. you are developing a plugin, but if I will use your plugin I'm not a developer right ? I know we can all pretended we are developers...but as a end user (person interacting with the robot) do I need a license ?

jeanlucben commented 5 years ago

You don't need any license , if you use the Synbot Plugin which is available on Synthiam EZ Robot Site.

I have also published on the site a detailed tutorial and examples of use of the plugin and of SIML. You can have a look at it If you have any questions , I will be happy to answer ....

I will try to publish a video in the next weeks

That would be superb. We are looking forward to hopefully see if this will be what we are looking for.
