Not a typo.
It comes down to style and personal preference, and there are countless articles about "data is" vs "data are". Random one: http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2012/07/data-is-or-data-are.html
I'd rather keep using the plural form with a plural noun, especially since the singular form datum is also commonly used in technical documentation.
The most important thing here is consistency, as demonstrated by the same "typo" appearing all over the documentation.
Fair enough, but I think you should still cherry-pick eda7541 as it actually is a typo :)
