change double to float #2

change double to float because double is not supported in DCTL (at least on Macs w/ Metal)

Hey Scott! Thanks so much for the pull request. I actually just saw this right after I pushed a fix for this! Great timing haha.

I need to figure out how to enable notifications on my github repos because I keep missing important stuff like this.

I'll close this because I don't actually know how to revert my commit and accept your pull instead... but please don't let that stop you from contributing or suggesting more changes / ideas! Happy to have feedback!
