Can you provide some screenshot of what it should be like? I've already
installed safari 4 myself and I don't have
a second machine by hand to check what it is like with safari 3.x

It's quite similar with what I got in iChm with safari 4.0beta here. What did
you get?

Hi, just checked iChm again, and found that now, "miraculously" the chm
rendering is OK. So we can close the
case.
Versions are:
Safari: Version 4 Public Beta (5528.16)
iChm: Version 1.4 (07f4788)
Mac: 10.5.6 / Build 9G55

Hi, I can not reproduce the bug with:
Safari: Version 4 Public Beta (5528.16)
iChm: Version 1.4 (07f4788)
I can't get the result without the style applied.

I don't know...That's exactly what I'm using...the results are always like
those in the attached file. I don't know if
there can be another explanation...but since it happened just after having
installed safari 4, like the other guy, I
thought it could be this.
Have you any idea?
Regards.

I can't recall any OS level patches since my first note, but here's the current
state, maybe it helps:
System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55)
Kernel Version: Darwin 9.6.0

Please check if you have any special settings of Safari

What do you mean...? I've looked in the preferences settings but I
don't see anything "strange"... Where should I look and what should I look for?

I don't know. I think you are web developers and you may have some special
settings or some plugins and
extensions which could have some effect on this.

no, no...I am a simple medical student...I don't have anything more than a
normal safari 4 beta...

I have uninstalled safari 4 beta and my chm files looked normal again. then I
have installed it back and they
again became "plain text". This proves that safari 4 by itself is the problem.
I have noticed that some chm files suffer this, while other are unchanged.
I can send you one that has this problem so that you can reproduce it.

Here it is. Inside the zip you will find:
- the chm file (when you open it, maybe it will show a blank page. Just click
one of the chapters from the
contents sidebar).
-one of the htm files I've extracted from it, along with its associated folder.
If you open the htm file (08.htm)
with Safari it will show you how the chm file should look.
Then, if you delete the associated folder (08_files) and open the htm again
with safari, it will have the same
"plain text" appearance of the chm file in iChm. This means iChm ignores the
.css file, I suppose.
Thank you very much.

I am sorry. I hope at least you have understood what happens on mine.
Very strange it's just mine.. :(
Could it be because I have an ibook G4...?
If you come up with any idea, please tell me...
Thank you very much anyway.

I think I understood what you meant. It's a lot difference between with and
without the style applied. I wish I
could reproduce it. I also tried open it in different internationalization
settings but failed on reproducing it.
Can you try it with a different user login in the same machine? may it help.

I've tried now from a different user but with no results. I'm italian, if this
matters for internationalization settings.
Thank you.

I just wanted to infrom you that since safari 4 came out yesterday, i.e. no
more beta version, my chm files
fortunately got back to their normal appearance. Thank you.
