Problem with PHP manual #97

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
iChm:
Version 1.4.1 (8fa6815)

Platform:
Mac OS X 10.5 (9A581)
MacBook1,1 (Intel Core Duo)

Data:
PHP Manual English CHM fo Sep 25, 2009 (still current) - from php.net

Description:
Nothing happens when clicking on links in the sidebar (index or content).
When right-clicking on these, I get a choice to "Open in new tab". When I
select that, a new blank tab ("Untitled") opens, and stays blank.
Search is sluggish and yields no results.
To check whether it is a software issue, I opened the MySQL manual (in chm
format). All sidebar functionality (search, index, content, and clicking
on all that) works very well, so this seems to be an issue with the PHP
manual - chm format.
This problematic document can be downloaded on php.net, currently at the
following address:
http://www.php.net/get/php_manual_en.chm/from/a/mirror
I am sorry for not attaching it due to a slow Internet connexion.

Thank you
Rolf

I've checked the file. The directory structure in the file is broken. Please
contact with the builder of the file to
rebuild it. Thanks.

Thank you. I thought it was a problem with the software since this
functionality
usually works in the Microsoft CHM viewer. I havent checked with this
particular
version, but I assume index works, since it worked with previous versions in
windows.

Please follow the instruction below.

"If you are using Windows XP SP2 or later and you are going to download the
documentation in CHM format, you need to "unblock" the file after downloading
it by
right-clicking on it in Windows Explorer and selecting the "Properties" menu
item,
then clicking on the "Unblock" button (on Windows Vista this is within the
"Security"
options). Failure to unblock the documentation file may result in error messages
including "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" due to Windows security
restrictions. "
