Today's meeting was mostly a work day, trying to get our website working. The XHTML (Frances), CSS (Feral), and JavaScript (Caelin) are all currently uploaded both to the GitHub as well as to the server. There were some issues with the site's XHTML that we attempted to fix, but were unable to figure out during the meeting time, so Frances is going to Emily's office hours tomorrow to try and determine how to get the pages to switch using the buttons. Feral made some formatting changes using the CSS including centering the content and changing the background coloring. Overall, the meeting was productive in that everything was uploaded to the server and we now have materials on our website. For next week we will all continue to finish the edits to our text/mark-up and get the site to function.

Monthly Project response.

It looks like you guys are making solid progress along with the rest of the groups! This project was definitely a big one to tackle, and I am excited to see your research presented at the end. Are you all finished with your markup? Also has there been any stand out difficulties which you have encountered, or has it been largely smooth sailing from early on?

It's so cool to see your progress! I like your website design. It seems like you guys are making big practice. You guys have a big topic, so I'm curious to know how you are handling the massive amount of markup. What are you doing with Java? Caelin, do you already know it or are you learning?

Hi Autumn! Sorry I'm just now replying to this - I do have outside experience with Java, but the specific bit of JavaScript that we're using for our filtering system is actually pretty user friendly, so really anyone can learn it! I definitely recommend checking it out if you're interested in different types of coding outside of what we do in this class :)
