MAC- No Console with any version of SP #31

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Sketchup.
2. Add controller name to a joint (yes, joint is attached to a body).
3. Press play.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

You are supposed to see a control panel with slider controls when you hit
play if you provide a controller name for a joint.

I name the joint, but when I hit play the control panel is still blank (see
attached image).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I have tried every available SketchyPhysics version available for my OS,
MAC OSX (v3a2, v3b, v3RC1, v3X).

Please provide any additional information below.

*Note in upper left-hand side of model it says "Requires SketchyPhysics3
RC1". As I said before, I have the same results (blank control panel) no
matter what version of SP I am running.

I have seen NO information that regards the solution of this issue. I've
seen other reports similar, but not sure if problems others experienced
were quite the same.

Is this the 'Webdialog...dirty' issue?
open the Ruby console. If there's an error message, check the Ruby discussion
for a
solution.

No, this is not the "Webdialog...dirty" issue.

This is an issue with the Control panel not appearing when you click play after
assigning a controller name to a joint.

No matter what I do I cannot get SP to show a control panel, and because of this
Sketchy Physics is useless. If you can't control a joint what good is SP?

I opened the ruby console, and got no error messages at all.

Any ideas folks??

I also have the same problem - the controller panel will not bring up the slide
bar
for the joints which I name under the "controller" section in the UI panel. I
also
get an error message when I try to name joints (please see attached screen
shot). I
don't know how to fix it. I have tried reinstalling many times!

Try naming your joints like this:
slider('name')

some joints give directly a slider in the control panel like a piston, a motor
or an
servo.
But not every joint. and a servo or slider-joint don't give it

Did you Fix it yet?

Well if you didn't I may have the answer, have you tried the "special names" it
gives you

for example:

Slider(xname)
Oscillator(x)

I found this helps it appear with a name... hope it helps!
