A lot of these shell scripts would probably make more sense as Ruby scripts. Mostly, there is just a lot of JSON parsing and string interpolation, which would be much more nicely done in Ruby than Bash. I'm not really sure why I wrote so much Bash to begin with, other than momentum I suppose.
