Mechatronics Engineer

Neuralink is seeking a senior mechatronics engineer to design, fabricate, and test next-generation medical robotics. This application entails tight integration with MEMS technologies as well as novel surgical procedures, and hence strong emphasis is placed on high-precision, high-repeatability mechanical motion, as well as high reliability and failsafe design. Candidate should have extensive experience designing and machining multi-DOF actuators; experience designing for specified stiffness and tolerance; knowledge of mechanical-resonance dampening and/or prevention; and creativity in mechanical chaining and actuation. Experience working on near micro-scale mechanical devices (e.g. watch mechanisms) a plus. Experience working with optical systems strong plus. In this role, you will work closely with imaging-guided surgery software engineers and the surgical team, hence knowledge of bioengineering is desirable, but not at all required.
