Also need to add that 720p 4 Mb downwards works completely fine. Only upwards doesn't load the video on my clients
I see the same issue with 4k HEVC HDR content using DirectPlay via Exoplayer.
But maybe it is supported in the exoplayer replacement media3?

Is this needed as a stopgap to migrating to media3?
Describe the bug
Using the Exoplayer while trying to transcode HDR content will result in a loading screen or black screen. The webplayer is capable of transcoding HDR content, the Exoplayer is not. SDR content works fine
