Google TV VC-1 playback issue (Too many errors, giving up) #3975

Describe the bug

  1. Open Jellyfin Android TV app. 2. Select VC-1 media, play in native player. 3. Media does not play, screen remains black, with 3 errors coming up a few seconds after eachother: Player Error Encountered, Will Re-Try... 4. Too many errors, giving up error. Native media player closes automatically. This issue also happens with MX Player on Android TV, where the file's audio stream will play fine, but the video is stuck on a garbled screen of neon green/pink/blue. VC-1 playback works on phone and Chrome on PC. Full log below.

My log is too long for that field apparently, so I can provide it directly upon request. Maybe I have the wrong log file.

The ffmpeg logs indicate you've wrongly configured hardware acceleration. You can use our forums/chat rooms to get help fixing that.

Closing as this is not an issue with the app.

Someone mentioned the error in the ffmpeg logs usually suggests a permissions problem with /dev/dri/renderD128.
