[Issue]: I just installed JF on my Macbook but it's saying, "You can't use this version of the application with this version of MacOS. You have macOS 10.14.6. The application requires 10.9 or later." But that doesn't make sense #416

I installed this one: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-media-player/releases/download/v1.9.0/JellyfinMediaPlayer-1.9.0-macos-notarized.dmg

I am using the latest version of Mojava on my Macbook. I just installed JF on my Macbook but it's saying, "You can't use this version of the application with this version of MacOS. You have macOS 10.14.6. The application requires 10.9 or later." But that doesn't make sense

That is odd that you get that specific message. That being said we only support Big Sur and later because that is what GitHub Actions builds for.

not sure what you mean by this. You can target older platforms even when building on a newer one (similarly to Windows).

I'm seeing here that the minimum version is 10.9, but I have the same error that I can't install the app on macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. Is there a way to get it installed anyway and see if it's working or not?

@BLACK4585 you are just looking at code rot. That file has not been updated since Apple abandoned the developer of this project. The solution to this issue is updating the minimum version to something more rational, because the real deal is that we are not supporting EOL operating systems.
