Specific video lags only on the jellyfin desktop and android app, but not web. #437

Four considerations:

Describe the bug I'm not exactly sure why, but a very specific video seems to lag on desktop client and on my android client, but not when I visit the jellyfin-web ui. It also works fine with MPC-HC and mpv.

It's extremely choppy, like it plays like less than a second, then micropauses, then does that over and over again. Sometimes completely stopped as if it's buffering.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. You'll need to find a similar video I guess? I can send over a PM.
  2. Play the video
  3. Extremely choppy playback. Sometimes it just stops completely.

I've gotten the exact same issue. The web player plays a VP9 video just fine on my laptop and smoothly, but on the JellyFin Media Player (Linux flatpak version) it just lags/gets a lot slowed down. Same behaviour on Android for me either, but even worse.
