Pre-roll plays for TV on web but not on Chromecast for Google TV #23

Movies: the pre-rolls for movies play on BOTH web interface and Chromecast

TV: I have some old network IDs (NBC peacock, CBC eye, etc) and studio rules.

When I go to play an NBC show on the web interface, the NBC studio pre-roll plays. For some reason, it does not play when I watch an episode on the Chromecast.

Mentioned in the discord, but updating here for visibility.

Each client has to be written to request intros from the server. If they aren't written to do so, they'll just play the main content.

Feel free to direct the developers of the client to me, I'll help them sort it out.

But to clarify, the Chromecast Jellyfin client IS playing pre-rolls, just not on TV content.

If I post an issue with the Jellyfin developers, what exactly do I say they need to enable?

So weird, just noticed pre-rolls for shows will run on the mobile Android app but not the Chromecast app. Odd that both Android apps act differently. Have asked the client developer s why.
