This bot exists to prevent issues from becoming stale and forgotten. Jellyfin is always moving forward, and bugs are often fixed as side effects of other changes. We therefore ask that bug report authors remain vigilant about their issues to ensure they are closed if fixed, or re-confirmed - perhaps with fresh logs or reproduction examples - regularly. If you have any questions you can reach us on Matrix or Social Media.

Hi @mholt , i don't know if this is still an issue for you, but i experienced it too. Finally found my fix here: https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/comments/ulx3m0/title_stays_on_screen_when_casting_to_chromecast/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 . Hope it helps you :)
Thanks! It is, but I don't have titles like that unfortunately.
I'm actually referring to not showing the overlay at all when in cinema mode, i.e. over Chromecast. It's not that it's "stuck" but that it should not display at all. When you go to a movie theater, you don't see the "Play/Pause/scrub" controls on the screen when the movie starts...
Describe the bug
When cinema mode is enabled, an overlay showing the title, cover art, and other metadata is rendered to the screen. These kinds of overlays do not appear in cinemas, only when watching YouTube videos or something - but with YouTube you can hide it by tapping the screen or moving the mouse out of the way. There is no way to hide them in Jellyfin, especially when Chromecasting.
They often cover up important text or subtitles at the beginning of videos.
I consider this a bug because cinemas do not show this metadata at the start of playback, so neither should Jellyfin in cinema mode.
System (please complete the following information):

Expected behavior
The overlay bar should not appear in cinema mode.
