[Issue]: Faulty reading of supported audio formats from LG TVs (webos) #3997

Please describe your bug

I have the problem with various movies that my LG TV (webos 5) does not play the sound, because jellyfin makes a direct play. Jellyfin does not recognize that audio transcoding is necessary. Most of the audio tracks that cause me problems are DD 5.1, which my LG TV cannot play natively and unfortunately cannot pass on to my AVR. It needs an audio transcoding from jellyfin for that. It would be very good if jellyfin could read the client a bit better or if there would be a possibility to set manually what it should transcode for a certain client and what not. So unnecessary picture and sound transcoding could be avoided.

Is there a possibility to do this?

A friend of mine has the same hardware setup, but uses Plex. There you can manually set directly on the client side what should be transcoded and what not. Also the automatic detection works better there.

Update: Ok it seems that jellyfin had problems with another jellyfin image (from linuxserver), which I had installed in a separate container in parallel to the original jellyfin for testing purposes. I have now deleted the other jellyfin image again and a few audio problems seem to have disappeared. Now when it transcodes the image it plays transcoded it no longer includes an ac3 codec and you also hear a sound.

But what still doesn't work is a direct playback of a mkv with ac3. He plays it but there is no sound? According to the compatibility list of my TV it should be able to play it without problems. Also my AVR says no sound in this scenario. No matter on AVR or internal TV speaker, there is no sound when direct play a mkv with ac3 audiocodec. When it transcodes, everything works.

Could it be that the test with the linuxserver/jellyfin image has broken something?

Here the Logfile from direct play:
