App will FC to free up some space #173

It seems that this app has severe memory leaking issues on webOS 4 It will restart / crash after some time of usage especially when watching 4k movies. The only way to make it work again then is to remove the power from the tv (unplugged it). When it crashes I can still use other apps like Emby to watch what I want without the need to unplug the tv.

Same issue on webOS 6

@sakej When you unplug it, it starts working again for how long? In my case, no matter if I unplug or not, it keeps crashing after 30s...

@iSach for me it was a couple of weeks more or less, not sure how it is now I switched to Emby due to many issues with Jellyfin unfortunately and the tickets were closed without fixing it here on GitHub simply because there were no activities on the ticket, or because the player code was old and no one wants to touch it... it's not the way it should work if you ask me

This unfortunately happens with many open-source projects. I was not a fan of Emby when I tried it out, but I might give it another try.

However, here the issue seems to be the very poor ram capacity of my LG tv, especially considering the quite numerous issues reported for many different apps on webOS in terms of memory usage.

Anyway, I've solved it by converting ASS subtitles to SRT. For some reason, ASS subtitles require really much more memory to render, and with this media even on 480p it would make the app crash.

For me when it comes to Emby on webOS 4 I did not experience any issues, and it's faster and snappier, Well.. there was one issue on the last update but they fixed it weeks and we waited longer for LG to push the update to store than for the actual fix.
