Jellyfin vs LG Media Player #178

Jellyfin transcodes almost all my videos from NAS (Synology 220+), but LG native app Media Player directly plays everything, even HDR content. CPU load 60+% vs 5%.

How to configure Jellyfin to only handle over files to TV, which decodes video files itself?

Server: DS220 Version: 10.8.11 Operating System: Linux Architecture: X64

TV: LG OLED55B16

New TV, new software! I’ll investigate properly soon, but from the logs I can see the server is using the “LG Smart TV” profile, which may be overly restrictive because it matches everything LG, old and new. If could be modified to allow more direct playback and/or only audio transcoding.

Profiles are in the Admin settings under DLNA → Profiles (tab)

The app doesn't use DLNA profiles. The device profile is generated with this function using the options from here.
