Hi there, I saw you were starting the Tim Corey challenge and thought I would help you get up to speed 😄 I have looked around your other projects and you didn't seem too up to speed with git, so I'm going to assume that you don't use it all too often - my apologies in advance if you already know these things.
If you have not seen a pull request before this is a way of a developer to write a bunch of code for a project without affecting your working branch. A pull request combines one or more commits and is one strategy for adding new features into your working branch. You can choose to accept the changes or reject them. In most cases for personal projects you will need to approve your own pull requests if you have done the work on a new branch.
In this pull request I have done just two things.
1) Removed the bin and obj folders from git, the reason why:
The bin folder is generated at build time, this contains all the files that are required to run the application. This folder should be considered safe to delete at all times as you just need to build the project again to get these files back.
The obj folder contains a cache of build items, this will include nuget packages. Doing this normally means you need to pull your nuget dependencies, but you haven't got any yet so don't worry too much.
2) Added a .gitignore file:
This file you will see everywhere, this will tell git to ignore certain files and folders that you don't want to add to your repository. These normally include folders that are generated automatically like bin and obj
You can reply to this pull request if you would like more info on this before accepting and I will try my hardest to get back to you asap. Happy coding!
