PoC seems to work, quick list of pending tests:
\\\" vs \"
in tasks.json
testing checklist:
tex -> pdf synctex on windows not working might be related to https://github.com/James-Yu/LaTeX-Workshop/issues/2768 and fixed in https://github.com/James-Yu/LaTeX-Workshop/commit/09c044dfeca8ddd4c35c05ddd66e56ca26cc4c63 (hopefully)
for now, keep watching https://github.com/James-Yu/LaTeX-Workshop/releases and wait for the new changes to be released
forward synctex works on the latest master branch of latex workshop. yay
note: while one could argue that this justifies a new major release (docker command requires additional environment variables), it does in fact not break anything. sure, a useless synctex file will be generated, but that's not going to harm anyone or break existing functionality
in order to support synctex in vscode (both ways), the LaTeX workshop extension can be used.
main.synctex.gz
generation inside the container can be enabled via--latex-args="--shell-escape --synctex=1"
main.synctex.gz
needs to be next tomain.pdf
(insideLatex/
) -> copy similar to pdfsynctex.gz
need to be replaced from/latex/.build
to actual host tasks -> un-gzip and re-gzip
