Oftentimes, people would like to pick specific colors for their text that either match the exact hex values of the colors in the map or for their organization's branding. The current workaround is to first change the color of the text, click View HTML Source, then change the hex value in the code. For labels, the workaround is to use ago-assistant to change the color.
One option to address this could be to include a hex value entry in the current color palette. Here is a mockup (this uses the same color picker that is found in the current smart mapping interface):
This UI would be for the foreground color as well as the background color.
*Bug found by Emily Meriam: When you open up the label manager in AGOL and you don’t change anything, the color palette stays open after you close the window.
** Issue: The second to last gray value has hints of blue in it and does not fit in the ramp. A suggested hex value for the second value is something closer to #3a3a3a.
