There are lots of symbols available for our users to choose from. However, because of the large selection, it is often difficult for users to find the exact symbol they are looking for as certain symbols may logically fall under multiple categories, but only be found in one. The suggested solution is to maintain the current categories, and add a search capability.

As the user types, options show up underneath the search bar of images that contain tags that match what the user types. In the example below, the user types the word "health" and all symbols with a health tag appear.
This is an important example that highlights how the health symbols above are all found in three different categories (General Infrastructure, Local Government, and Points of Interest). These are more modern than the symbols found in Safety Health.
The search will help users quickly and easily find symbols that they are interested in without having to spend more time searching through every single category.
