Sponsors Page #3104

The number of sponsors is growing and it would be useful to maintain that list of sponsors in a specific page where we could elaborate a bit more how they are helping the Jenkins project

Good suggestion. The sponsors have been updated but a separate page might be a great way to highlight sponsor contributions.

Do you have something in mind, like a template for this page, or an example that you saw somewhere else? Also, where would this be be linked from, the https://www.jenkins.io/ top menu bar?

@andreamussap I would envision https://www.jenkins.io/sponsors available from the top menu, "about" -> "sponsors" Maybe with a link from the bottom of the landing page. And the page would be split into three areas:

1) A list with big sponsors logo for main or very long-standing sponsors. 2) A list of middle-sized sponsors logo for most sponsors. 3) This section is the one that I am less confident but I think it would be fair to reference former sponsors who played a major role to Jenkins success but do not sponsor anymore, but I fear it may be seen as a wall of shame.

But this is just suggestions, I don't have strong opinions

(available from the top menu, "about" -> "sponsors") - I think it's a good location.

(former sponsors) - yeah I wonder if this would bring any benefit, or if it would be relevant. Why would we want to list those who sponsored in the past? It's an honest question, and I don't think that this section would add value to the page.

(A list with logo) - And then, besides or below the logo, a short paragraph saying how that sponsor helps the Jenkins project?

Another idea that I have to increase sponsor visibility without taking too many places on the landing page would be on top of a dedicated sponsoring page, having randomly show on the landing page a few (1-3) sponsors with a logo, a small description of how it helps the Jenkins project, like a jumbotron at the bottom of the page
