the move from alpha to beta means we need to make sure we are removing any APIs or CLIs + flags that we do not expect to maintain, support or that do not work.
We can disable them for now and add back in once we have more capacity if needed rather than removing code chunks but we do need to make sure that features we say work do work or mark them as unknown or experimental.
