Profiles should begin with a well written introduction to your application profile. The introduction should set the stage for the content to follow, and address some of the big picture issues. Some questions to think about include:

• What are the purposes of the engineering system? Who will use it? And where? • What factors are likely to influence the economics of product development, choice of technology etc... • Are their significant risks in development? • Who is responsible for system development and operation? • What are the roles and responsibilities of the main groups of people working on the system development (e.g., architects, engineers)? • In a high-level sense, what kinds of information passes among these groups of people? • Who is responsible for building and testing, operating and maintaining the system?

What's up, Doc? is a web application that is used to connect patients in third-world countries to healthcare providers electronically to receive a diagnosis for their symptoms. Citizens in third world-countries have lack of access to medical resources and healthcare plans. This web application is designed to bridge the gap between patients with no access to healthcare, and doctors. Doctors and patients can be anywhere in the world as long as they have an internet connection. Because the customers are in third-world countries, the system will have to be cost effective. The risks are that medical records could be breached, or leaked. Also, information may not be 100% accurate due to the many language barriers. The main responsibilities are keeping the translation system up to date, keeping the web application and database up to date, and making sure the connection in low-bandwidth areas is stable enough to support the web application.
