Bracken (Bayesian Reestimation of Abundance with KrakEN) is a highly accurate statistical method that computes the abundance of species in DNA sequences from a metagenomics sample.
This was originally mentioned as a comment by another user in #226. The user raises some good points about why bracken might not be suitable for analysing transcriptomic data from bacteria. I was wondering whether bracken would be appropriate to use for a metatranscriptomic dataset that contains diverse taxa from multiple kingdoms?
