[Action Required] Drive API requires updates to your code before Sep 13, 2021

Hi Jenny, did you by any chance received an email from google with object "[Action Required] Drive API requires updates to your code before Sep 13, 2021"?

We have already encountered some issues with Googlesheet library. Here below:

• even if gs_auth() is working, we are having trouble with both gs_ls() and gs_url. Here a screen with the main error (received in both functions)

It seems like R can't see any gsheet associated to our account.

Can this be related to the Google updates? I'm asking that because until August 8th all functions worked fine.

The googlesheets package has been superseded by googlesheets4 and this has been true for quite a while (over a year). It sounds like Google is perhaps finally shutting the v3 API down, which has been planned and announced for a long time.
