Kein USB-Boot mit Pi4B-8GB möglich seit 3.75.6.20240316.

Das Problem ist bekannt und wird auch in #2688 teilweise mit behandelt. Da mir #2688 aber zu durcheinander ist und ich die dort beschriebenen USB-Boot-Probleme mit der 4GB Version des Pi4B selbst nicht reproduziert bekomme hier nochmal ein Ticket NUR! für den Pi4B-8GB.

Problemloses booten von USB mit Versionen > 3.73.9.20240130

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. RM-Version > 3.73.9.20240130 auf USB-Medium flashen (Stick/SSD) und booten
  2. den Bootvorgang am Monitor beobachten
  3. man sieht das der Bootvorgang bis "Starting Kernel" läuft, dann wird der Bildschirm schwarz, der Pi4B-8GB resettet sich und das Spiel beginnt von vorne ...

Additional information

Inzwischen konnte ich das Problem auf die /boot/u-boot.bin eingrenzen. Pflanze ich die /boot/u-boot.bin der 3.73.9.20240130 in eine der späteren Versionen ein, bootet der Pi4B-8GB mit der jeweiligen Version problemlos von USB. "Beweis-Screenshot": Pi4B-8GB_USB_Boot_20240601

Ob das auch die teilweise gemeldeten USB-Boot-Probleme vom Pi4B-4GB "fixt" kann ich nicht sagen, das müsste jemand ausprobieren der das Problem hat.

Da noch keine aktualisierte u-boot.bin in RM für Pi4B enthalten ist besteht das Problem weiterhin. Getestet mit Nightly 3.79.4.20241013-908eb8, kein USB-Boot mit der original u-boot.bin möglich. Mit der alten u-boot.bin aus 3.73.9.20240130 klappts weiterhin.
