Just asking, because the last update was years back (the next update is bound by the release of an updated AmiSSL, iiuc, so also years in the future) and more and more issues seem to sneak in

Why are you insisting so much on an imminent release? As said, you can perfectly use the nightly builds and hopefully get your current issues solved. In addition you would help us testing it throughtoutly until the final 2.10 release. And no, its not years to go but probably end of this year where you will see an official 2.10 version together with a new AmiSSL version 4 being release in 1-2 months in advance.

Well, the last months question to an upcoming release were answered with "We don't know, it depends on the release of AmiSSL" and questions to the release of AmiSSL would have an answer "We don't know".

Your answer is more than i was hoping for. A new release for both AmiSSl and YAM this year or at least early next year is fine, i can wait.

You guys do an amazing job on lots of projects which i use daily.

I'm not "afraid" per se to use a daily build, it's that i just don't have time to cope with the time out reminder of such builds (i know there is an envvar to turn that of, but then i'd easily forget i'm on an outdated build)

My problem is that i only have two to three days in a row off of work and when i come home i want the important stuff to just work...and yes, i count YAM and some other software important, thanks to you guys.

Once i have holidays i will get back to betatest more deeply while trying to find stuff that hasn't been found yet, albeit still doing that on the release build i check every time for a similiar or same bug in the database before submitting.

I'm trying to help where i can, but YAM is just too important to mess with using bleeding edge builds, sorry.

I crave your work, YAM is by far the user friendliest eMailer i have yet seen on different platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS). Once there is IMAP support there will be nothing stopping it to become the best.

I just try it and it works with Amissl V4 and the latest YAM 2.10 dev build. For Web.de and GMX.de it was not working, i get for each the follow errormessage in the debuglog: : PASS xxx : -ERR authentication failed : QUIT

Sie haben kürzlich versucht, Ihr GMX Postfach in ein E-Mail-Programm wie z. B. Outlook oder die vorinstallierte Mail-App Ihres Smartphones einzubinden. Dieser Versuch ist leider fehlgeschlagen, was folgende Ursache haben kann.

Die für die E-Mail Programme benötigten Protokolle POP3/IMAP/SMTP sind standardmäßig zu Ihrer Sicherheit deaktiviert. So soll verhindert werden, dass Unbefugte unbemerkt über POP3/IMAP/SMTP auf Ihr Postfach zugreifen.

Jens and Thore you do a great Job. Many many thanks. Both servers send a wrong error (-ERR authentication failed) instead of "POP3/IMAP/SMTP is disabled" Maybe you can add a hint about that in YAMs errormessage? So other users maybe don't stumble in this trap.

@Weber-Frank I am sorry Frank, but adding an own "POP3/IMAP/SMTP is disabled" message is not possible if the server only returns an -ERR authentication failed error. How should YAM then know the reason for the Error if the error clearly stats authentication failed as the actual reason.

I mean it in the way that if the error occur then yam that it might be due to a switched off pop3 access. e.g "... -ERR authentication failed... (be sure your POP3/SMPT access is enabled for this account because the server send such message too if the access is disabled)"
