Wireless channel setting "Auto" fails

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go to wireless tab and set channel to "Auto"
2. save and apply
3. watch the output

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
should confirm and change to "Auto". instead it says something like  that
setting (-1) is invalid...

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and web
browser?
prebuilt 8.09.2 default image brcm-2.4 with webif r4838. firefox 3.5.7

Please provide any additional info below.
