As of subject, I think it's time you remove this project form the Atom package index.
I wasted nearly an hour and installed unnecessary libraries (gyp, npm-gyp and other stuff) before realizing this project is dead and abandoned.
It's absolutely fine if you moved on, but it's not so fine if you leave this project in the atom package archives as it is easily found and installed and this leads to people wasting time.
