Need "detection" algorithm implementation #7

The "detection" algorithm (as described in the project specification) needs to 
be implemented.

This will include:
- Setting up and reading data from the ADC.
- Formulating and tuning the algorithm that identifies "knock events."
- Reporting knock events (counter values) to the "recognition" algorithm 
through an agreed-upon interface.

This issue will track matters related to the initial development of the 
detection algorithm.
