wmii crashes when using mouse chording to unfloat a client

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a client in a new tag. Let's assume it's opened in the managed mode. 
2. Send the window to the floating layer (keyboard or chording).
3. Send the window back to the managed mode using chording
(left_click-right-click in the grab-box)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
wmii crashes:

wmiir: cannot read file '/event': broken pipe: Broken pipe
segmentation fault

What version of the product are you using (wmii -v)? On what operating
system?
wmii-hg2565 on Ubuntu Linux 8.04.
