Browser extension cannot log in... #319

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Please answer the questions about build version and network, will save
developers a lot of time !

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installing the extension succesfully (No problems)
2. Clicking the Extension icon selecting log in.
3. Stuck forever on "OAuth Redirect Page" with only content "Redirecting..."

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected to be logged in and it would just work. Did that on my windows xp
netbook, no problems at all. This is running windows 7 home premium. Chrome
fully updated.

What version of the android, in Settings -> About phone -> Build number (ex.
FRFxx ) ? If less than FRF50 - see the FAQ.
Running 2.3.3 Gingerbread. No problem with the phone.

Is the phone using WiFi or mobile network when problem occurs ? If Wifi, are
you behind a firewall that blocks outgoing connections ?
Mobile network - Again only a problem with login in chrome browser.

Can you open "Gmail" application ? Do you see new messages without hitting
'refresh' ? Yes my google account works perfectly fine, both Youtube, Picasa
and Gmail and both on phone and desktop.

Please provide any additional information below.
It workls perfectly fine on the phone and with my netbook, I just can't log in
on my desktop computer. The browser extension fails. Not a phone issue since it
works fine with my other computer.

Comment 49, I viewed your page and your script noted my clock was 71 minutes
ahead of schedule. Google for "current time" matches my machine and phone
clocks perfectly. Continuing to have this issue (OAuth redirecting, chrome 12,
Android 2.3.3, VistaSP2)

Yes, obviously you see the right time; the problem is that internally it's
using a wrong time offset. You should check in the Time and Clock options of
the control panel.

Not sure about Vista, but you can click or right click on the clock, then go to
something like Adjust date and time.
In that window, go to some option named time zone and check that it has set
your right time zone and that the checkbox related to summer time adjustments
is correctly checked/unchecked.
Finally, you should have the "use internet time" setting enabled, that will
automatically keep your clock at the right time.

I might try to add some pictures to that page, but it might be tiring to search
for them in every OS.

You should see the permissions in your google account, eliminate the access to
chrome2phone, uninstall the extension and then reinstall, it worked for me

Also getting this issue in Chrome 15.0.874.24. Windows 7 64-bit.

I did an inspect element on the page and here's the error I found under the
console tab if it helps: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property
'chromeExOAuthRequestingAccess' of null - chrome_ex_oauth.js:546

Here is a solution (what I did to fix it).

- Close all chrome windows.
- Adjust Date / Time, check time zone and then synchronize it with
time.windows.com
- Open Google Chrome or in my case, Chromium Dev-m (16.xx)
- Click the chrome to phone icon and sign in.
- Grant access and it should just work from here.

Hope it works for you all. Good luck.

I changed the time on my computer to exactly match my phone (changed the clock
to read a minute ahead of my phone, then waited for the minute on my phone to
change and pressed "apply" right when it did.) I also disabled my wireless.
It worked perfectly the very next time I tried it.

Answer for me:

1) Go to computer's system clock.
2) Go to "Change time zone."
3) Make sure that "Automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time" is checked
and click OK.
4) Check that computer's system clock's time is correct.
5) Make sure phones system clock's time is correct (and time zone and daylight
savings time settings are correct.)

My time zone is correct and I've synced the time. But still the problem remain.
Every time I tried signing in, It stuck on the page saying redirecting...

Restarting Chrome won't work and reinstalling phone to Chrome, either.

Guys...i struggled like you to solve this stupid issue.
2 steps:
1) Just go to your phone e tick the box DATE & TIME/ AUTOMATIC (use
network-provided values)
2) just go to your Mac/Pc (i've got a Mac) SETTINGS/ DATE & TIME tick the box
AUTOMATICALLY SELECT DATE E TIME and in DAYLIGHT TIME select the CLOSEST city
to you.
THAT'S ALL!
What a stupid thing, Why Google needs the two machine to be with the same
AUTOMATIC INTERNET TIME? I think it's really stupid!!!

When log in is pressed in the browser, the redirect page does not show
anything. I recently upgraded to Windows 8 from Windows 8 consumer Preview. The
Plug in worked before the upgrade.
