Home page grid possibility #49

Is it possible to create more of a grid. I've mocked up two versions, but both would include the ability to host adverts (in the future) within the grid.

home_page_1 the first version is a full page grid where adverts and post would appear within this.

home_page_2 the second version would be similar to what is already there, but a 3 column grid instead of two, with space to allow for self post and ads to run? however it would include a feature that would allow us to keep the current badges on the side but they would scroll down the page with the menu bar as the dazed social icons do here

or if the plan is to ultimately move away from this grid system to a more templates home page with sections then i will do another mock up reflecting the, though i would need to speak with editorial team and see how they would like to section and divid up content

Good question. Adding columns should be quick & easy. Embedding the 'widgets' (Join Skin Deep Squad etc) or adverts into the grid would require a bit more work, but also doable I imagine, and I agree it would use the space way better.

I haven't spent too much time looking at #32 yet, but I do know Anu has been keen on it. This feels like work that should go together (I'll be changing the same code for both). I think your suggestion of considering it with sections too would be good. Maybe something for us to discuss in the meeting?

(btw these mockups are so great. It helps me so much! 👍 )

Update: Can switch to three columns with ease! Could deploy that change in the meantime if you like?
