Map drawing problem for vector maps #48

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load IMG vector map, for example benelux map 07705793
2. Zoom to middle ranges, either with or without satelite raster background
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
-I expected to see the vector maps, instead I get a blank screen (PPC) or
no screen updates (XP)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
-PPC Prof 61 (Touch HD) + XP Prof (NL, SP2)

Please provide any additional information below.

- At some zoom levels of some vector maps, the screen goes blank
- The error does not occur with raster maps (issue 32, a similar error with
tiles missing/white/black also happens, but is probably unrelated)
- The error blocks the entire drawing of the screen, so if rasters and
vectors are mixed, no screen updates happen to either.
- Typically, the error happens at lower zoom levels (zooming out, less
detail). If you zoom in to more detail, it works again.
- If you zoom out so much that instead of the map an oblong is shown to
indicate existance and position of a vector map the screen works again. (Do
note the 'indication oblongs' are drawn behind any raster, so are not
visible unless you set the rater to none)
- It seems not all vector maps trigger the error. I can trigger the error
with the Benelux-detail map 07705793 but 07705770 has the error on all
levels. The benelux overview map and free iQue world map have no error at all.
- If you have multiple maps, with multiple erronious zoom levels, their
errors are combined. So if both maps in above example are loaded, and you
are in an area where both have detail all levels are in error. But if you
are in an area where only 07705793 has detail, the highest zoom ranges work
again.
- (Un)Setting 'Prefer Google zoom levels' does not influence

Unfortunately I cannot attach the maps, as they are copyrighted. However,
there may be more maps that have the same issue

The issue is still real, but in fact, so far I am only able to reproduce it with
Metroguide Benelux. Topo NL works OK. So I would not call it too critical, just
annoying it was with the first maps I tried....
