minecraft/flyer as 'pilots wings' ? #217

[12:15am] QF-MichaelK: The onGameStart soudns like it could go in front of your ring thing

[12:16am] QF-MichaelK: The pilot wings gameplay was really cool, one of the first freeroaming nonviolent games

[12:18am] QF-MichaelK: Something that makes games fun is "freedom" in your game, you're forced forwards at a certain speed, but you could easily turn around...  doing loopdiloops for the hell of it would be fun

[12:22am] jetienne: it isn't easy to make it scale

[12:24am] QF-MichaelK: You also might want a limit to movement, perhaps you can catch air currents or you need to get fuel packs...

[12:25am] jetienne: QF-MichaelK: oh the kind of white column are 'air current' ?
[12:26am] jetienne: QF-MichaelK: yeah fog are easy
[12:26am] QF-MichaelK: Yeah, it's a rising air current in pilot wings... but with this, there's also no ground... and there's only so much fun you can get from flying through rings if you aren't limited...

QF-MichaelK: How about, it's night time and falling stars land on the clouds and glow and your light beam rider collects these to get more speed/control... that allows them to fly through the rings... the rings are randomly placed and there's some arrow that points them there (maybe a radar)

[12:31am] QF-MichaelK: Maybe even different colored fallen stars... blue for some ability, yellow for power, green for...  Could even add little monsters to shoot

[12:32am] jetienne: a bit like 'silver surfer' 
[12:32am] QF-MichaelK: I think you could pull all of that off
[12:32am] QF-MichaelK: Yeah, something like that could be cool
[12:32am] QF-MichaelK: might even be like a wind spirit or something
