How to extract table from PDF journal article into R? #7

Okular

Okular is a multi-platform pdf tool. It has a table selection tool.

  1. Open PDF in Okular
  2. Activate table selection tool
  3. Select table 4.a. Optionally mark out separate columns and paste into a spreadsheet program 4.b or copy and paste into spreadsheet program and use text to column option to separate columns
  4. Check that the conversion process worked (check for strange characters, such a s minus symbol not working); check column alignment, etc.
  5. Save file for R (e.g., as a csv)
