Thank you very much for your feedback and suggestions, they are very helpful. Those feedback about UI, we will optimize in the next update.
Regarding translation and UI, we are very welcome, and the update will be fast.
Other topics:
For small feedback such as translation, UI, we will respond quickly. Feedback on larger features is also very welcome, but needs to be planned on a case-by-case basis.
Okay, I'll get to the translation corrections as soon as possible and send them to you.
Re 1: Thanks for the reply. I'm very excited and glad to hear that at least it's not a problem or ruled out in the first place.
Re 2: That sounds good to me. Although I would have thought that this point would be a weak demand point, since by now many operating systems or devices have good dictation capabilities anyway.
Re 3: For me personally, I see the biggest advantage in accessibility. For example, I have a reading disability. And I still have difficulty reading despite reading/speed-reading training. I am still a very slow reader despite everything.
Advantages that could benefit many users:
In situations where the user needs to focus on other things (such as driving, cooking, walking or exercising), speech output could be much more convenient and safe here. In combination with a TTS function, a voice output would of course be completely rounded. But otherwise, you might only have to interrupt your activity for text input and could continue interacting with the system most of the time without having to pay attention visually.
Multitasking: Sometimes hands or eyes are already busy with other tasks. In such situations, voice output could be very helpful. There are also people who can concentrate best just when they are using different sensory channels for different tasks at the same time (e.g. painting with hands and eyes while listening to an answer in the background about a topic that has nothing to do with painting or creativity at all).
More natural user experience: a voice output is often perceived as more intuitive or pleasant (hence the suggestion with Elevenlabs, because the voices here really sound very realistic and natural).
Therefore I think it might make sense to offer this as an optional thing and give the user the choice.
Ok, thanks for your detailed feedback. We will consider adding voice input and output capabilities.
Hello, first of all I would like to thank you a thousand times for this really great and currently still too underrated app. I have already given you a detailed 5-star rating for iPad version in the Apple Store and hope that it will be released soon (and you definitely deserve more stars, in my opinion).
I am now also using the macOS version and would like to help you improve your app, as I noticed a few little things here and there.
First, UI specific proposals:
When clicking on "template" in the input field and the templates appear as a result, the whole picture is a bit confusing. Because the foreground does not stand out enough from the background, it looks a bit mixed. My suggestion: The blur effect could be much more enhanced and/or the purple boxes with the templates could have less transparency and/or the purple boxes with the templates could be given a different colour to better visually distinguish them from one's own messages in the background. In the Mac Appstore, this would be related to the one before the last image, or 8th image (but I just see that the colour there is blue, not purple like mine. However, different colours for the message box and the template box would definitely be in the interest of a better UX).
Further referring to the above point, also the hint that GPT-3.5 has only limited programming capabilities is annoying when you open the templates. The notice is much more dominant or present in the eye due to its black font and position. This could perhaps fade away in the time it takes to open the templates?
If you go to Settings, there is, among other things, the item "Rate the app
5stars
", which in German translation is "Bewerten Sie die App5stars
". The German version doesn't quite fit in the width of the bar, so the fifth star is cut off. Anyway, I suggest you use "Bewerten Sie uns5stars
instead. This means "rate us", but this is a common expression also in German to mean the app. There are also some corrections that could be made to the German translation, although I have to say that your German translation is already on a good level (far better than google translate, but some words still seem machine translated or are partly non-existent in the German language, like "Abtauchtemperatur" in the tooltip of temperature).
Please let me know if I can help you correct the German translation. I would be very happy to do so.
PS: I know that's a lot of different topics for one issue thread now, but I wanted to know two more things:
1) I would like to know if you plan to open source the app's code at some point? I would really appreciate that and I'm sure a lot of other users would too. For example, I would totally love to customise a personalised version just for my computer (therefore it wouldn't make sense to make feature requests for highly individual modifications). With the right licence, you could continue to be the only one who can use the app for profit.
2) Do you plan to implement voice input and output? For example, is it conceivable that you implement Whisper as a local STT service (maybe as a Pro feature..)? I would definitely pay for that. And for voice output, would it be possible for you guys to integrate Elevenlabs? It would be awesome if one could just enter an Elevenlabs API and optionally enable voice output next to the text input field or so.
Many greetings!
