Budget Report Title

Hi Jerry, I have just noticed a minor issue with 'Budget Report' window regarding the Budget Title.

I have attached 2 screen shots showing the issue.

Screen shot 1 shows the report selection window with budget "2024" selected, (this is the only budget I have created for this year, all previous year budgets have been deleted)

Screen shot 2 shows the budget title as "Budget Report 2023" that no longer exists. The drop down list only shows this budget, not "2024" that was shown as being the budget selected.

The budget details show the correct totals for budget "2024", it is only the title that is incorrect.

I know this is only a minor issue, but when I originally run the report I assumed the wrong report was being displayed since the incorrect year was indicated. I only later realized that the correct budget amounts were shown, only the title was incorrect.

This is not a major problem as far as I am concerned, I just want to bring it to your attention.

Dave, is it possible that the "Budget Report 2023" was saved with the report period set to "Automatic"? If it was then it would show as displayed in your image. It could be changed by editing the period to Last Year or even better setting to Custom and Report Year to 2023 and start month to January and end month to December.

That said I can't quite reconcile that with your first image because it says "Create Default Budget Report" which you should only see once on a new file - but then the old report should not be there. I haven't been able to duplicate that part yet.

You should also be aware that I have moved on from using Moneydance as of the start of the year and won't be updating these extensions any more. The source is available to anyone who wants it and maybe someone else will pick up fixes and improvements. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the reply Jerry, I have not been able to remove budget title "Budget Report 2023" from the report per your suggestion. But as I have said, it is not a big deal for me.

Dave, I'm still a bit confused that you saw the "Create Default Budget Report" dialog but you should be able to do this:

1. Open the Monthly Budget Report extension.
2. Click the Edit button and set up the report as you want it for 2024 then click OK.
3. Click the Memorize button and enter the title you want for the name of the report - "Budget Report 2024".
4. Click Default if you want this to become the default report or OK otherwise.

After that, when the report is opened the title should be correct - I hope :-)
