Request: ability to map to body segments rather than organs #25

Thanks for the great package! Much of my research involves measuring skin temperatures of different body segments (e.g. face, hands, chest, etc) and I haven't found an elegant way to visualize those data in R yet. I came across your package and thought it would be perfect for this particular application with some modifications. I would be happy to help determine the coordinates of typical body segments if that was useful.

Hi Tom,

Great to hear you like the package! If you can provide the coordinates mapped onto the outlines, I think I should be able to add it to the package!

Cheers, Jesper

Awesome! Thanks for being receptive. The default 16 segments are usually left / right foot, left / right lower leg, left / right thigh, pelvis, head, left / right hand, left / right forearm, left / right upper arm, chest, and back. I'll get the coordinates to you hopefully this week.

Sorry for the delay. I edited the original in Illustrator and made a new 'segment' layer with the body parts. Hopefully this is what you need - let me know if not and I can correct it. Thanks again for agreeing to help. homo_sapiens.maleSEGMENT.zip

Hey Jesper, just wondering if the file I sent you was sufficient to implement this? Let me know if not and I can make any corrections. Looking forward to testing when it's ready. Tom

Just wanted to chime in that I too would use this package right now if it had segments like "head", "shoulders", "neck", "back" etc. or at least: "head", "upper limbs", "back", "lower limbs".
