Can no longer see Tesseract when standing in the hallway above on Level 6. #240

According to Level 6's design (and the Hint) the plan was to introduce the player to the hidden Tesseracts. This was done by placing the 1st Tesseract in the hallway below where Rex runs when starting the maze. As he runs above it's supposed to fade in/out of view to queue the player into hidden items in the game.

As of 1.01 you can no longer see the Tesseract when Rex runs above it. This "worked" in 0.89 but I don't have access to ROMs beyond that to see exactly when it stopped working.

One thing I noted is that in the working version you can only make out the outer hexagon as shown below. This is probably because it's being drawn with a higher intensity than the inner shape in previous builds? Note that the Tesseract in 0.89 was to the left of where it is in 1.01 but it's at the same height in the hallway (I verified this in the the maze collections sent by Jerky). image

Jerky's placement of the Tesseract is as high as you can go in the hallway so that Rex picks it up without jumping. I moved it up a bit and burned ROMs and you can see there's some weird math concerning the distance to target too. The first pic below seems like Rex is just as close as the bottom pic but the intensity is much different. Maybe that's what's going on? image
